Small sessions, big ripples.
Every workshop is a couple of hours. What children take away lasts much longer. Here's how far we've come, who we work with, and how we check that it's working.
Our numbers
450+children reached
80+in-person workshops
10partner organisations
50student volunteers
More children, more partners, the same 50-strong team
When we first proposed STEMulate Academy we had run 50+ workshops for 200+ students across 8 organisations. Since then we've more than doubled the number of children we reach.
Each bar is scaled to today's figure for that row.
How we measure what matters
Headcounts only tell part of the story. We also track what children learn, how they feel about STEM, and whether partners and volunteers want to come back.
- Pre and post quizzesThe same 5 questions before and after each workshop.
- Smiley-face surveysKid-friendly 1–5 faces on enjoyment, interest and confidence.
- Partner feedbackA short form for centre staff after every series.
- Volunteer reflectionsHours logged and a quick reflection after each session.
- Academy dataSign-ups, lessons finished and game high scores.

In their words
My children enjoyed going for Project STEMulate's workshops… afterwards they did talk about wanting to have a career in science… they were very inspired at the lesson!
“Being able to draw on the iPad, write my own script and edit a video for the very first time was really fun!”
“After attending Project STEMulate's workshops, I am more encouraged to go for the Science stream in secondary school. I want to attend workshops about other topics of STEM!”
“With them around engaging the children in interactive activities, the children feel less alone. Our community children look forward to the sessions.”
“I love the project and really admire the things you all have done! I would love to be part of this project because I really have a strong passion for STEM and I want to bring that love to those who may not have the opportunities to engage in it.”
“I would like to share the joy and my interest in STEM with those who are underprivileged or may not have as many opportunities to learn more about this field.”
“I'm passionate about Project STEMulate's cause… The project also helped me grow as an empathetic individual.”
