By introducing coding at a young age helps to build confidence and lay the foundation for future exploration and pursuits. Over time, we made the sessions more dynamic and engaging, helping to foster a deeper curiosity and interest in STEM among the children.

Structure of typical ~2 hour session

Introduction to Topic

Here, our volunteer facilitators explain the theory behind the topic to the participants. Usually will include diagrams, videos or simulations as visual aids.

Practical Portion

Then, our facilitators will conduct a related practical (simulations, utilizing coding platforms to apply the theory part, etc.) as the hands-on portion of the session. This helps our participants grow a deeper interest and understanding of topic in real life application.

Wrap Up

Finally, this time is taken for a debrief, or in the case of STEM X Coding, providing other examples and inviting the participants to continue exploring the platforms on their own time.
