Project STEMulate

Events and Curriculum

Developed by our members, the STEMulate Curriculum forms the foundation of our project, applied across various initiatives for a cohesive impact. Aligned with the Singapore primary school curriculum, it offers supplementary materials explaining real-life phenomena, also incorporating Theory and Practical segments in each session to encourage children to learn through experiential learning.

STEMulate Workshops

Our cornerstone initiative - STEMulate Workshops - has directly and continuously impacted more than 150 children in our target age group across BSS and CCCS. We have conducted 38 original sessions incorporating our STEMulate Curriculum, which have consistently received positive feedback from attendees, parents and our partner organisations’ staff.

Overall Impact & Engagement of STEMulate Workshops

The newfound confidence and passion for STEM learning developed through our sessions have also begun to influence the children’s long-term aspirations. Several shared ambitions they have to pursue STEM-related careers, highlighting our project’s role in broadening their horizons.
Beyond the educational outcomes we aimed to achieve, we were also heartened to serve as not just mentors but peers in the children's lives. Having formed otherwise unlikely friendships, they remember our first names and maintain contact with us outside of lessons. We are honoured for the opportunity to act as older sisters and role models,  leaving a tangible presence in their lives.
The community leaders we liaise and work with expressed admiration for our commitment to creating quality activities. Our partner, BSS, shared,“ With them around engaging the children in interactive activities, the children feel less alone. Our community children look forward to the sessions.”
